From July 18–20, 2025, the San Francisco Bay Area buzzed with creativity and innovation at Open Sauce 2025. Makera, a proud sponsor, made a remarkable impact, showcasing its cutting-edge CNC technology and engaging the maker community with exciting interactive projects and workshops.
Makera Booth Highlights
Positioned prominently at Hall A, Booth D.1, Makera captivated attendees from the moment they entered the main hall. With a dedicated team of seven, the Makera booth presented live machine demos, hands-on creative workshops, interviews with creators and users, and exclusive giveaways. Visitors experienced firsthand the remarkable capabilities of the Carvera and Carvera Air Desktop CNC machines through detailed carvings, aluminum machining, PCB fabrication, and advanced rotational machining using the 4th-axis module.
Additionally, the newly introduced Makera Cyclone Dust Collector made its debut, capturing interest in its capability for cleaner desktop fabrication. Attendees enthusiastically engaged with real-time machining demos and hands-on DIY projects, experiencing first-hand the seamless and precise capabilities of Makera’s solutions.
Interactive Workshop: The M-Tank Experience
A standout feature at the Makera booth was the highly interactive "M-Tank" workshop. Makera designed and fabricated over 150 M-Tank kits specifically for the event. These kits featured solid aluminum components and pre-soldered digital PCBs, all crafted using Makera CNC machines. Attendees engaged enthusiastically in building their own M-Tanks and piloting them in an exciting IR-controlled battle arena right in the booth. This hands-on activity not only highlighted Makera’s machining capabilities but also demonstrated the joy and accessibility of making.
Community Connections and Collaborative Spirit
Open Sauce 2025 provided an ideal platform for Makera to strengthen its ties with the broader maker and DIY communities. A significant number of attendees—over 500—expressed their interest in acquiring a Makera CNC machine.
Throughout the event, dozens of existing Makera users visited our booth, generously sharing their valuable experiences and insights. Eight of these users—Kevin, Neil, Lauren, Mick, Kelvin, Dennis, Les, and Luke - participated in formal interviews, providing deeper insights into their creative journeys with Makera machines. Additionally, numerous other users who visited the booth offered valuable feedback and insights, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to them as well.
